The Visionary Spotlight at IBSA USA is dedicated to sharing the stories of the company’s leaders and future leaders, with a focus on their professional backgrounds, success stories, and especially the strategies they employ to grow the company’s existing portfolio and future product pipeline.
Shawna Anderson, Regional Sales Manager for Southeastern USA, joined the IBSA USA family because of its culture of innovation and compelling portfolio of medications. She explained, “IBSA seeks to make patient lives better through innovation and subtle differences in our products. This subtle precision can make the difference between the ordinary and the exceptional.” Today, Shawna is working hard to grow her team and its capabilities so that she can help bring IBSA USA’s important medications to more Americans.
Visionary Spotlight: Shawna Anderson Shaping the Future

Shawna’s team of 15 outstanding sales professionals are collectively responsible for conveying information about IBSA USA products to healthcare professionals, specifically the safety, efficacy, and cost-saving opportunities each product offers. Shawna and her team also ensure that all patients and clinicians are up-to-date on the latest improvements and changes to IBSA products. In the future, Shawna envisions “expansion, growth, and unprecedented success” for her team and for IBSA, as it continues its mission to help more patients in a more meaningful and significant way.
In terms of IBSA’s four pillars, Person is the one that resonates most with Shawna; specifically, Person through Innovation, Quality, and Responsibility. When Shawna hears from patients and providers how IBSA’s products have positively transformed their lives, she sees firsthand how ISBA impacts America’s patients. Or as Shawna explains, it is wonderful “to be selling products through the excellent efficacy and safety data that we have,” and especially “to be able to feel passion about what you sell, knowing what a life-changing difference our products can make [to individual people].”
Not surprisingly, Shawna finds her greatest professional satisfaction in improving patient lives, and she loves the “beautiful synergy” of doing something great for patients and IBSA at the same time.
Shawna also holds the IBSA USA community in high regard, noting how the company provides an “inclusive, open culture” where all ideas and feedback are respected and considered. This open culture proved especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Shawna and her team needed to adapt quickly and become a virtual sales force in a matter of weeks. Shawna recalled how challenging and yet how fun this time was, as her team grew exponentially. Together, they found ways to reach even more customers with the latest information about IBSA products and made a significant impact on the company through sales.
Shawna highlighted her Veloce Awards trip to IBSA headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland as among her favorite memories. In addition to touring IBSA’s Swiss factories and offices, and meeting other IBSA team members from abroad, she had the opportunity to fly over the Swiss Alps and take in the magnificent view. As Shawna puts it, “it reminded me how fortunate we are to have good health in our lives.”
