Visionary Spotlight: Duni Cummings-John Shaping the Future

When Dr. Duni Cummings-John, Director of Medical Affairs, joined IBSA USA, she was immediately drawn to the Company’s mission, values, and collaborative spirit. The opportunity felt aligned with her values and professional goals.

For Duni, a lifelong passion for advancing research and improving patient care made IBSA USA a natural fit. Reflecting on her decision to join IBSA USA, Duni notes, “They were doing work around good therapies and making them great, which I loved.”

Since then, she quickly found herself part of a culture that felt both purposeful and personal — one where every individual is united by shared goals and a common vision for excellence. “It’s clear everyone is on the same team and working towards common goals,” she says. It’s this culture of shared purpose that Duni believes fuels the work of the Medical Affairs department. 

In her role, Duni leads an agile team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) covering the East and West territories. In this role, she helps ensure medical accuracy, clinician engagement, and readiness for future launches.

Looking ahead, she sees opportunities to grow Medical Affairs at IBSA USA by expanding the team and increasing the department’s influence in shaping medical strategy. She is also committed to fostering talent from within, “Creating pathways for our employees to shine in their areas of strength.”

Among IBSA’s core pillars, the Person and Quality principles resonate most with Duni. “The Person pillar is the heartbeat of medical.” Whether serving healthcare professionals or patients, “Person” is at the center of everything the Medical Affairs team does. “We serve not only our HCPs, but we also serve quality care to patients at the most fundamental level.”

Duni also takes pride in IBSA’s integrity and the alignment between its internal culture and external presence. “What people see on the outside really has to do with what is happening internally.” That consistency, she says, is what makes IBSA USA stand out.

As IBSA USA continues to grow into new therapeutic areas and prepare for upcoming product launches, Duni is energized by the possibilities ahead. With a clear vision and a purpose-driven team, she’s optimistic about what the future holds for IBSA USA, for her department, and most of all, for the people they serve.
